Default tick noise while moving.

Recently, I've been hearing a noise that has been bothering the hell out of me.

When I have my windows down, I can hear a "tick tick tick" sound that seems to go faster when my tires are going faster.
It seems like it is coming from around the passenger front tire. I don't think it matters but I just got two new tires on the front.

I dont think the breaks are sticking, either. Do you think it could have to do with the magnets they stick on the rim when balancing the tire & wheel?

Default intake install?

Is there a forum on HT showing step by step installation for an intake on a 6th gen?

I search "intake install" and whatnot but it doesnt return anything.

There is a link to an install for a 94-97 Accord in the Accord FAQ. It should be close enough to that for you to follow.

you can always go to AEM's website, Injen website to download their version of installing the intake.

Probably a rock or somthing stuck in between the tread, or a screw or somthing.

Like was said, check for junk stuck in your tires. Sounds like the problem to me.

first off, they dont use magnets to balance the tires, those are 'sticky' weights. They are just lead weights with 2 sided tape to hold them on.

Second, if then the new tires were installed, assuming they are on the front, the tech could of slightly bent the brake rotor backing plate. Its a common problem and it makes the same noise that you have descried.

Default Install complete

The only weird thing is that I couldn't take out the stock vaccum hose because its attached to something else, so i just left it hanging around.

Nice job!

That hose that you were talking about, coolant runs through that. If you want to, get a coupler and put those 2 hoses together.

BTW how does it sound? I really want to do it, but I don't want that thing to be really loud...

Its really easy. Its just kinda hard to get to the air box bolt closest to the front of the car. I just broke it since the battery is in the way.

its not loud at idle. You can just head a growl from the filter when RPMs get hight.
I can really tell a difference. Cant wait for headers.

The only real difference between generic and name brand pipes is the quality of rubber couples and hoses..along with the filter.

Youll save a whole lot of money getting a generic pipe with a K&N filter.
A pipe is a pipe..period.

Thats not quite what I wanted to hear..but IF that is the problem, how do I fix it?
Also, I didnt notice it right away...Maybe a week or two after the new tires.

Does anyone have a price range for installation of headers and/or an exhaust system?

Default looking into exhaust systems

If I get headers before hand, and decided to get an exhaust system afterwards, would it be better to just get a tip, or a full 2.5" exhaust pipe all the way through?

I am wanting a low-pitch "hum," not a ricer sounding exhaust; Is there any way to judge that online? Does the diameter make a difference?

What are the differences between tip mufflers and full pipes all the way through? Any performance differences?

Also, are you suppose to use your normal catalytic converter if you get a catback exhaust, or do you have to replace it?
