1988 has eye mount.
1989-91 has fork mount.

and yes the strut and lca is the only physical difference b/t them.

has anyone swapped out the rear lca's from the 88 to the 88-91 style??

yes sir. but mine are ITR LCA's

you can slap a rear torsion bar on the 88's real easy

I have the 88 LCA's on my 91 HF.
