Default mugen and kuhmo.... blasphemy?

PICS AS PROMISED
mugen nr mirror face 15x6.5 purchased from hmotors steve

i ordered the kuhmo's yesterday so thanks to everyone who commented and helped me to realize i needed to get a tire best suited for the type of driving and not buy something just for a name
hopefully the pics will make up for this crappy thread if not bring on the cats!

i already posted this in wheel and tire but i need some quick responses so i can make a informed decision on whether to order these tires TODAY. so im sorry for posting this in a inappropriate forum but i guess its somehow appearance related because i dont want my wheel and tire combination to appear retarded.lol if this is truly in the wrong forum i guess mods can just delete it. so help me out my Appearance / Cosmetic people finally the question

i recently purchased a set of brand new mugen wheels and yes i was considering mounting kuhmo AST tires on them since there going on my daily driver and would see some spirited driving from time to time at the most. so basically im asking for opinions on whether kuhmo has built enough of a name for itself for it not to look retarded mounting them on mugens? also would 205 be wide enough for a 6.5" wide rim? comments, answers and opinions welcome

In my opinion I would wait to put legit rubber on wheels I spent the time and effort waiting/saving for.

There's nothing wrong with those tires. That's exactly what they were for. Daily driving. And THEY"LL LOOK FINE. Why would you spend more on tires that have a shorter life? I'd go ahead w/ the ast's IMO

im not really looking for a performance tire as much as the tread life. im just not sure about the mugen/kuhmo combo

LOL just my honest opinion, but anyone that dogs you for having Khumo's on Mugen wheels has bigger issues. Put whatever you feel you should on the wheels man, I missed the part where Khumo WASNT a respected brand?

I have 15x6.5 with 205/50R15 Bridgestone Potenza RE750. Have driven them for a year almost, and they are real comfortable. Good grip on the road, and the tread life is still almost brand new. They have a really good tread life rating, but it's all based on how you drive, I've hardly beaten up my gas pedal much.

I don't see how mounting Kuhmo tires on Mugen wheels would look "retarded" as you say. They're tires. They roll and touch the pavement, they do their job. I doubt anyone would knock on what tires you choose.

i beat the crap out of my daily just because its stock and quiet so no one knows im getting on it. i think thats why im having problems with paying lots of money for a performance tire thats just gonna get ate up driving light to light so 49$ a tire and a 400 tread wear rating seems to be the deal im looking for. i think lol

i think it would be more retarted for you to put a tire you didnt need on your wheels the ASX is an awesome tire. Ive got ast's on a set of HPD hairpins now and the average joe (everyone around here) asks are those works? and thats the end of it. putting more expensive label-hoe tire on your wheel is strictly for internet pimping and asking someone to jack them. go with the tire you need not the one that is cool. and yea 205 is the correct size for a 6.5"

is this really a thread??....man just buy the tires that YOU want. You already have yourself great wheels buy the tires that go with your intentions or driving style. I have had 6 sets of kumhos and have had 0 complaints

ok i get the point. i guess i just had it in my head that kuhmo was a lesser brand than it actually is and i have owned plenty of sets of kuhmo tires and also have zero complaints but for some reason i felt putting kuhmos on mugens would be like putting icw's on a nsx. lol idk

and i promise to validate this thread with pics later. lol

i personally like them for the money, but if i had the money to spend i would upgrade to better tires of course, but im not rich. i would just buy the tires you feel comfortable buying and driving on.

Where is the SPT option . This "Brand" mentality is truly becoming silly. Kumho makes pretty good tires.
