I'm not sure if that's compatible with my stereo. I've heard the 99+ came with a square plug while the 96-98 came with an oval plug. Can anyone confirm/deny this?

Are you sure 96-98 Civics came w/ stock radio/CD player combination? When I bought my Civic in 96, only CD player they could offer me was one that goes in cubby hole above cup holders.

I have a 99 si cd player for $100 shipped, you can buy the plugs at any electronics store and rewire it yo your 96-98 civic, it's real easy and it could match the Si climate control and the gauge cluster that guy above me is selling. I have that set up on my EK and it looks real nice. Let me know.
I also have a friend selling a type r replica wing painted flat black for $140 plus shipping.
