You realize making a kill switch costs like $5 right? Also, if you want your car to be dead to a thief, just take your main relay with you when you leave the car. If it's already unbolted it takes 3 seconds to get out and - bonus - it won't reset your CD player presets and such by killing the power.
A buddy of mine did this for two years and never had a problem.

Drive your car into your room and sleep in it like one of those TOTALLY RAD CAR BEDS!! Bonus, you dont have to make any car noises when pretending to drive.

it's usually in the engine bay fuse box.
ASIDE: i dunno how effective disabling the car's ability to start is against thieves... many times they will just use a tow truck and steal the car.

i agree with you, however, the only thing i have on my side, is that i do have a driveway... not that it helps much, just a lil more work... cause my street is small. and since ive already had someone try to get into my car, im a bit paranoid... only thing that stoped them was a simple viper alarm... so i just want something temporary...

Incorrect, noob
The main relay is directly above and behind the hood latch release lever. It's a grey box with a brown connector (usually) and it's held to the side of the car by a single 10mm bolt.
Also, most car thieves don't drive around neighborhoods with a tow truck hoping to find an unattended Civic. Being on this website skews the statistics of car thefts. If you have an alarm and/or something as simple as a club or killswitch, your car might be broken into but it's unlikely to be stolen. Just because 10 threads a week come up in this forum doesn't mean your car is likely to be stolen. There are about 3 million EG Civics on the road today in various stages of modification. Don't be stupid and it won't be stolen.

you can search this very site for "kill switch" with the archived post button selected and it'll give you a hundred different ways to make a switch. If you're too lazy to do that - which seems to be the case - you can go to the audio/security forum and poke around there. True, the main ignition/battery fuse is a double-screw type and it's in the engine-compartment fuse box

yeah, that's what i was thinking of when i originally posted...
then again, it was right after lunch and i was in a half-food-coma state.
still no excuse for confusing "relay" and "fuse".

I'm not sure what you're describing, but it's not the main relay. The ECU is on the kick panel below the glove box and the CEL bridge socket is tucked up underneath the glove box, but there's nothing resembling a main relay in that vicinity.
