which ecu to use on jdm b16
friend " shawnD" has a jdm b16 in his rex. he wants to know which would be the best after market ecu to get for some more power. he has the one for the engine now, wants one for a slightly moded naturally asperated engine. please help out. thanks
what would be the one under 400-500 that would work best ive heard good things about hondata bad things about mugen and didnt know there was a spoon ?? but its a daily driver and i want to continue building it with the basic bolt ons but i have the VAFC and it runs like ISH* and im thinking about maybe a new ecu so that i dont really have to mess with?? any help would be great
wouldnt that be a bad thing? i would think it wouldnt be so good for the engine if your redlines that high unless other things were change internally

yea, sounds like you are just asking to mess something up the first time you miss a shift and stomp the gas without it in gear..no rev-limiter to catch you from hurting it. i know i personally wouldn't want to try?
theres no point in getting an "aftermarket ecu" (which is just a reprogrammed ecu) unless your engine is modified. the most improvement with a reprogrammed ecu is with bigger/wilder cams.
yea well he has been looking at some different cams for it actually? i am not sure what kinda, but he has his eye on some....and it is slightly moded...
i recommend http://www.hyperducktuning.com for all your ecu needs.
