Default how to remove headlamps on ek civic?

How does one remove the headlamps on an EK civic? I see two obvious top bolts, but they seem to be held else where. What needs to be removed to access the other bolts, and where are these bolts?

I wish the search function still worked on this site.

Thanks

There's 4 bolts and a bunch of clips holding the front bumper on.

Pop out all the clips (black ones in your engine bay)
Remove bolt holding bumper to fender (in wheel well)
Remove two bolts holding bumper to bottom of core support (under the car)

Seriously .... it's not hard. I figured it out myself, just like everyone else I know. If you need instructions on removing your bumper, then I cringe to think of the mechanical work you'll end up doing to your car.

This site has a wealth of information, but sometimes it's just best to go look at something and try and figure it out before you ask for help. We help those who help themselves.

PS - The search function works, you just don't know how to use it.

Thanks for your reply. I have removed and installed suspension, axles, etc on my maxima, done hid projector retrofits, etc, so I am not completely mechanically handicapped. I figure I would ask for tips first to make the job a little faster.

I find it hard to believe you did all that on your own, but you ask for help doing a bumper.

Paint me skeptical, but come on ...

Take off the bumper to get to the lamps.. There's like plastic screws on top.. There black then u have one on each side holding it to the fender.. Then on the bottom but u won't need to take those off.. Once u got that done there's screws holding the lamp to the frame.

And is there something wrong with asking for help on removing a bumper? I typically like to go into a job first knowing a few tips to make it easier, rather than to run into issues after-the-fact. That is the way I do things. Sorry to hear that you have an issue with this. Feel free to look me up on hidplanet.com, maxima.org or torontomaxima.com if you do not think I do far more advanced work and help others as well with newbie questions.

The extra thing holding them on is most likely the bolt on the side. You have to remove the most forward 2 bolts on the top of the fender (or you can only remove one, but it's harder) and you can bend it out a little to get a ratchet in there.

Only one can stay. I much prefer driving the maxima, besides the fact that it automatic.

Goodluck with your new car. One thing that I like about the maximas vs smaller cars, is that they hold up very well in crashes, which is something you can never predict.</TD></TR></TABLE>

Ahaha.....hope your headlights go out on a curvy road.

Excellent response. Don't get too upset that I refer to my winter beater as a sh'itvic...
