Default D16z6 head on D15b

hey i was wondering if i could put my D16z6 (vtec) head on a D15B (non vtec)? what mods would i have to do to make it fit or would it just bolt on? and do i use my D16z6 ecu? (i think the engine code are right i am not sure) i am doing the swap because i am planning on boosting, but my engine now has to high of miles (150K). how will the D15B hold up under boost. i am not going to boost much only looking to get between 180-200whp.

D15b what? (the Jdm d15b was SOHC vtec, not nonvtec as the OP stated) d15b 7 or 8? If its the 8-valve d15b8, then yes a z6 head would make a nice difference, as well as a z6 tranny.
No you cant make 180+hp NA from a D16 (internally stock) without using FI or nitrous, and some tuning.

woops sorry i think i forgot to mention the reason why i wanted to do it was just to get a longer rpm range so i could stay in boost longer. i wasn't really lookin for more power. because i can get a D15b7(?) the usdm D15 that is non vtec locally. but what i really want (the JDM D15B vtec) i am having trouble finding it locally (most out of state). and the shipping is really expensive (almost as much as the engine). does anyone have any idea where i can find imported engines near Atlanta GA? and i would like something with not to much more thank 70k miles on it.

I have the same issue.. I have both motors as well, but the head ported wouldn't be half as good as the motor stock. If you have the whole deal, keep it together and just drop the d16 out and swap the z in. Everything's plug and play as far as I know.

Don't waste your time, as the guy said before. Do it right.

But if you're boosted.. I would keep the stock tranny that came with the d16.. it's really long geared already.
