Introduction and question
Shout out from the midwest,
I would give alittle bit of info about myself. I've owned a '91 Civic SI purchased in '01 because it supposedly had a bad motor. The bad motor was an out-of-range O2 sensor and soon as that was fixed and it ran perfectly. When I purchased the car in '01 the clutch and timing belt had just been replaced. At the time of purchase the car had only 147K miles and today I'm at 275K hoping to make it to 300K. This car has a very solid body for a midwest car, before '01 it was in Arizona. Since owning the car I've replaced the following and will tell why below, mainly because I think it's interesting.
Driver seat (it broke at the base)
Radiator (twice, first one was my fault the second rusted out)
Exhaust (Who even counts - seriously this is like the third exhaust setup)
Distributor (bad bushings)
Plugs (replaced twice)
Air filter (replaced every 15K miles)
Distributor cap (one time)
Coil (one time due to problem with heat killing performance)
Front and rear brakes (3-4 times)
Passenger front fender (A deaf guy drove into the car and didn't hear it)
Driver side mirror (A truck driver ran into - how did he miss the car?)
Bumper cover (A truck driver backed into it - different occasion)
Paint (This car has been painted twice since I've owned it)
Valve cover gasket (Replaced due to leaks)
Alternator (Replaced three times, two from Autozone failed)
What doesn't work at the moment:
Sunroof (Stopped in both directions)
A/C
My question, finally you may be telling yourself, will a '90 Acura 1.8L (B18?) fit in the Civic without too much problem? I've tried to find an answer, but maybe I'm missing it. I picked up this '90 dirt cheap and got a ton of engine parts and was thinking of build a new engine to switch the car over to at 300K.
Thanks,
'91Civic300K
