check out crvtec.com and also look into there links. Also check out importbuilders.com they make them and they also have dyno charts of B20vtec, wiht mis. boltons. You donly need a vtec head to rev all the way to 8200. Go to the Dragracing Form and look for the topic B20-no vtefc.... 13.23 at 100mph.
Yeah but i have a B16 in my car now and the rings are shot so i want to put that head on the CRV block and gsr cams im just wonderin can i rev it to 8200 and will it pull hard?
Yeah you can do it... I would if i ahd the b16 head. I'm not sure if you can take it all the way to 8200, because of the B20 rods, they are the weakest point when it comes to high reving. If you build the bottom right and fuel is plenty tunned... when that motor hits 8200 you'll be happy.
I hope that i can het my stuff together, plannign on also going B20vtec by fall.

the crv's rods are not the weak point of the motor. it is the oiling system. i am hearing bad things about ls vtecs and cr vtecs lately, i would think more about stroking vtec blocks.
Yep... it pulls.
The power falls off about 7400 rpms w/ most Honda cams except CTR's. No need to rev it past that unless you need the momentum. I.E. road racing.
While I was on the drag strip... I got better times shifting at 7600 rpms compared to my 8200 redline.

On my old setup i had a B16a1 and i wanted more power so i just swapped in a '96 B20B block and i revved it to 8500 all the time. The head was completely stock except for an ITR manifold. It made power all the way to redline. I didnt think it would but when i went to the track at first i was shifting at 7500 and 8000 and then i decided to try 8500 and it pulled hard all the way. The setup was in an '87 Si so traction was a bitch but it still ran a 13.6 on street tires with stock block and head. Thats been the setup since September and its still running strong! My friend has the car now. I know its been less than a year but i pushed that car hard and its ran great the whole time.
