Im trying to decide on what to get, and where to get it. i searched the dealers section, no parachute results. what are you guys running? im looking to have a high 9sec low 150's car
I can't say much, cause I haven't used mine yet, but I have packed it a few times. So I'd say Stroud
And like dave said, if your running a wheelie bar setup, make sure to either mount the pack up high, or use a air/spring launcher.

stroud here! I heard that the simpson chutes were pita's,
If this is for a sfwd based car then I would go for the C/E chute. Cause I did.

I run a simpson, had a stroud on before but it got tangled up in the wheelie bars twice. Switched to a simpson and not a problem since. But now that we have a wing on the car I may switch back to the stroud since they are better suited for lighter fwd cars.

((Weight of car, in pounds) X (Speed, in mph)) ÷ 1,000
2540 x 150 ÷ 1000 = 382.5 (for me)
C/E for me when the time comes.

Well worth the extra money. It throws it really far out there.</TD></TR></TABLE>
i think it is unessessary to have an air launch on a SFWD vehicle-no wheelie bar to tangle and the traps are not high enough for the chute being required to open that fast. but hey if you got the dough, to one his own

For me it was less than than $200 extra for the air launcher. I already have the Co2 setup for the NLR.

I have a Stroud set up but haven’t used it and more then likely wont since I run all-motor. I just needed it for safety requirements in NHRA events and those 9sec runs. More damn weight

You dont need it if you run 9's, you only need it when you go over 150mph. You dont even need to pull it, just have it. I've only pulled mine once because I wanted to know what it felt like. I still use the brakes.

unless you run nopi though art? isnt it a requirement to pull the chute after 150 and if you dont it is a dq?
