Default break it down for me.....

Okay before anyone flips on me to search and etc I've read the FAQ on the B series swap just like some break downs of what's what exactlly to get the swap done (to know what I'm getting myself into). The swap is 96+ B18c1 going into 91 CRX hf. I want to keep the GSR hydraulic transmission, go VTEC for sure , go ODB2, anything else I'm missing?

So can someone brake down to me what model ECU it is I'll need to run for complete 96+ B18c1 swap? I want to go OBD2 on the 91 crx so I can dyno tune it later. I am still new(noobie okay!) trying to learn in the process but if you say "PW0 or PR3" ecu or whatever I don't know what model ecu that is so please let me know what ecu I can run so I can later on dyno tune it with the swap. I was told to use some sorth of an ecu but it might be hard to find one, forgot which .

Aslo I know with it being 96+ B18c1 will I need to run the axels that comes with that year or do I still have to do the 90-93? Teg axels? How about the shifting? Whats better buy new ones or reweld? And the going to OBD2 I guess is the more confusing part to me, what is it I have to do to go OBD2? Is there like a wiring harness I can buy/get etc. or is that the using my old wiring to get to OBD2. And also I like to know what else it is I need to do to get VTEC! Well I'm having a shop do the whole swap but I want to know and make sure that I have everything needed to get what I want for the swap. Well sorry for the post but I just like some one to breake it down to me, still being new to all this swaping and all but I just like to know so I can get the swap. PLEASE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HELP, DO NOT POST! Like I said I read the swaping FAQs and understand in general of what a swap is but not in detail or what is invovled to have certain things in on a swap. TIA for the help

p.s. I'll leave the a/c out of this post maybe that one will be another topic?

First of all, are you sure you read things right, and you want to go obd2?

2nd of all yes this all can be searched word for word down to the hang nail you'll get mid way through putting your pass side axle in.

As to the things that arn't covered but should be, it's up to you what you want to do about shift linkage, for me it's one less hassle to buy it and know it's done right. I'm also not the best welder. So for me it's buy one.

I understand you are new but really it's all covered. People like me found all the problems you are going to run into and fix before you open your hood the hard way. So with all the info out there we really dislike people wanting hand outs.

PS... yes you can do AC I had mine with a big header up to a month or so ago.

Even tho your motor is obd2, You want to run obd1. It is the best obd to run in your car. Obd2 was made for emession purpose and causes more problems then its worth ( with swaps anyways, if the car is stock obd2 its easier to diag.). You will use a obd0-obd1 jumper harness. These are by far the best way to go. Then you will get a v-tec subharness that plugs into the jumper harness and runs to the extra sensors that the car never had ex.4-wire o2, knock sensor v-tec pressure sensor v-tec solenoid,. Check out http://www.rywire.com I have used there conversions and had great results. I have a obd2 gsr motor running obd1 in my 1990 crx si and it works great. I used 95 intgera gsr axles and they work perfect. Since you have a dx you will need hubs etheir off a crx si or dx. If you need anymore info just ask.

Also I forgot to mention, if you use the gsr trans you are going to need to swap out the vehicle speed sensor with one from a cable trans, it is very easy to do. if I where you I would buy the shift linkage. I had a welded set on my b16 swap, they worked great and where cheap, but if you dont know how to weld, or anyone to weld for you, just buy a set from hasport.

JUST like to say thanks so far(white90rexsi)

"So with all the info out there we really dislike people wanting hand outs"

I know some may say it's a hand out but what am I to do when I search and don't exactually understand something then what?...I though it's the love of Honda that people help each other out...if people don't like to help just don't post and eventually the OP will know no one cares to help unless it's some plain stupid?!And I do know YES there are plenty of covered topics but what can you do? Banned evryone who post already covered topics? Just don't post on it is all you can do....no?

Well I guess as far as the OBD2 thing guess someone told me wrong which made me thought I can go OBD2? Anyways okay ODB1---> jumper harness, thank you, and vtec okay thanks. I will check out Rywire for that, now OBD1 and VTEC I can get at Rywire.com right, will look and order.

As far as the welding the shop who's doing the swap for me can weld it if they have to. Well I don't have a dx, I've got the HF model, though I plan to upgrade the brakes after the swap as well.

Reason I ask is my questions is because with the few shop that's here I can't ask any question and get some sort of undertsnading from them with such poor service it's like expletive them I shouldn't get them any bussiness anyways I'll just take it to someone else who's willing to do the job and get paid for it not some shop who thinks that they know it all and don't give a crap about anyone...which I'm sure they know what they're doing but just being dicks

Thanks (white90rexsi) I'll let you know if I need any more info. so far I think it seems to be answered by you now....

What you mean I can't read the FAQs I told you I read them and in the CRX FAQ there isn't much crap on a straight B18c1 on a crx anyways at least I didn't find one but hey WHY NOT JUST DON'T POST TO THE THREAD THEN!? Unless you can proof to me that I really am stupid and can't read/search whatever on a post reguarding the same swap I need. Besides SORRY if I don't have all the time in the world like some people to be on HT and read everything like some *****

But I do take it you have the time so why not make a new FAQ on specific engine swaps or whatever else so there wouldn't be any post on already covered topics? Thanks?

I did that exact freaking swap before HT had write ups.

It's covered, stop crying

I don't have to prove **** to you, you've proved me one thing, you kids are just that a bunch of kids. zomg no one handed me a swapped b18c crx... it can't be done.

Maybe some soft democrat will tell you how you were in a crappy mean enviroment and try to take my motor out of my car and install it for oyu. But I for sure won't listen to some kid bullshiting me because he can't /won't do any god damn leg work on HT compared to people like me who were sitting staring at a tranny that didn't fit and got that **** to work on their own.

You sure seem to have the time to cry, why not spend it figuring out what the hell you need, it's a big shock but it's here if you look instead of keep lying online.

No one hands me anything and i don't just keep lying around on HT like you IT'S CALLED I GOT A LIFE and I work to GET PAID so I can do what the expletive I want with my bread...thanks buddy

IBTL.

Toad's going to have a hoot when he reads this one.

To the OP, your fighting an argument you can't win. Cut your losses and use Honda-Tech's search feature to find out everything and everything about your particular swap.

I'll try to provide some insight though. I'm doing this same swap in my SI right now, so things are still fresh in my mind. If your having a shop do it for you, then your only concerns should be buying the right parts. If you buy your motor from HMO, they sell all the other parts that go along with the swap for your application.

Off the top of my head, here's the majority of **** you'll need:

-Mounts: Alot of people go Hasport. You'll need the EFB2 product. It comes with the hydro to cable tranny conversion hardware that you'll need if you decide to use the tranny that comes with the motor.

-90-93 Integra Rear bracket mount

-Modify shift linkage from a DA, or get Hasports EFBLINK shift linkage. The latter is a better option IMO.

-Wiring. Either do it yourself (there's how-to's in the FAQ) or send your **** to Ryan and Peter at Rywire. You'll need to convert from OBD0 to OBD1 (or 2, whichever motor you get, I say go OBD1) Rywire sells OBD0 to OBD1/2 harnesses. You'll need to wire for VTEC, Rywire can get you that too. Instead of me trying to explain it to you, just read this: http://rywire.com/store/8891-c...1d52e

you'll still need to re-pin injectors and some other stuff, OR you can send your stock HF harness to them and they'll make everything plug and play for you.

-Axles: You'll need axles/half shaft. I forget from which trim, but search and you'll figure it out.

-90-93 DA throttle cable (if your using the stock intake manifold)

-And there's a bunch of other small ****.

Go to http://www.droppedcrxsi.com

Read, research, learn.

Good luck.
