Default Timing Cover

my friends crank to alt. belt is rubbing against the timing belt cover after he put his UR pulleys on. he wants to know if he could just remove the bottom timing belt cover. i told him i dont think its a good idea. what do you guys advise.

No not a good idea on a street car. Is the cover properly installed? It shouldn't rub.
