As long as he has access to 93 octane fuel there will be no problem.

I ran one for a couple years. The low rpm advance makes the greater octane necessary to avoid pinging at traffic speeds. There is no ignition lockout. Overall it was a gas to have in the car and I only removed it when going with the AEM EMS. It definately gives the car some greater power.

Ive been running one for 5-6 years. Better acceleration and over all driveability. But you need to run 93 octane fuel, and install a mugen low temp thermostat, fan switch and radiator cap.

I ran one on my B16b with 92 octane fuel with no problems whatsoever.

It needs those parts for the ECU to function properly

I'm sorry, but there is no way in hell the ECU "needs" a low temp fan switch and high pressure radiator cap in order to work properly.
