the JDM type R motor is stamped with B18C.

Check the head to make sure its a PR3 casting, and ITM. Verify tranny code as well.. thats as far as it gets from just visual I beleive.

Part numbers for the JDM ITR motor usually have a P73 in the middle.

jdm gsr and type r have the exact same block = b18c

jdm gsr head = p72
jdm type r head = pr3
b16 head = pr3

itr head has green paint by the distributor.

thanks, i bought the car and it was a jdm itr. the guy seemed a little strange over the phone but it was correct, thanks!
