HELP PLEASE!!! ROTOR PROBLEM
i have a 94 civic si and my driver bearing is shot so im trying to take off the rotor to try to get to it but the problem is that my rotor is stuck i took off all the screw and everything but i just cant seem to get it out.. anyone know if there is a way to get it out.. thnx
you positive you took off the screws? did you break the heads off the screws or strip the threads? try a rubber mallet and gently hit it off, it might be frozen in there, should come off no problem
If I remember correctly, there should be a total of four holes in the rotor, 2 in which the screws were keeping the rotor and 2 that have nothing in them. after removing the screws insert two spare bolts in the other two holes. These holes go through the rotor and not into the hub. As you tighten the bolts they will press the rotor away from the hub assembly. I assume the caliper is out of the way so that your not pulling against that. These 2 other holes will most likely be full of rust and corrosion, so us caution and tighten the bolts equally as you go so the rotor comes off evenly. The best way to do this would be to fit bolts in the new rotor. I believe they are a 6mm bolt, but I could be mistaken.
