I am very meticulous when it comes to my maintenance, I have more recently learned how heat can ruin an engine.

I live in Tucson AZ, where the average temperature seems to be around 100F. I bought my car for cheap back in feb03, it has had a few ups and downs and a huge transformation since.

Just recently, it had been boiling over on and off for a few days, I thought it was a faulty rad cap like the one Spoon provided me, bad thermostat or the lack of fluid in proper mixtures for the extreme climate.

It turned out to be an eroded radiator bung, and a quick fix of a lexan +pvc washer was all that was needed to prolong the life of my honda/transport for another 2weeks of disastrous commutes in blazing conditions.

The engine had been revving nicely for a few days and running smooth with good cooling even when being driven hard. This morn after getting to work, I noticed the blown headgasket noise with the car parked and the windows down, I assumed when it cooled it would return to its normal behavior.

I started it up again several hours later when leaving work, and shockingly the noise remained, except this time with a nice squeal and clicking, I abruptly turned the engine off.

I checked the coolant and oil, oil astonishingly was short a quart and the coolant was missing about a quart too. I added oil, and water and hoped to cure it until I made it home.

Bad idea!!

I made it 1/2way home and the car ran good, until this one intersection. I was waiting what seemed to be about 10min at this light, the temp went from c to h in 5seconds

it started sputtering white smoke and steam, I pulled into a gas station and **** the engine off.

I spoke with a mechanic who had been working on honda's, he said it might be a cracked block or warped head based on his experience.

I might as well get a new engine right? This car is meant for transport, 2and from work and that was all
