Painting Sideskirts?
If one was to paint a set of sideskirts (just OEM/factory) how much paint is needed? Other than Primer/ Paint/ Clearcoat/ Compressor/Gun (well the DIY paint threads) what materials are needed since the painting surface is plastic? And precautions?
Also do you need to apply some sort of coating so that the plastic can take road debris abuse?

If they are already painted and the paint is not failing, sand the skirts lightly with 400 grit and paint over. If they are bare plastic, prime them, sand the primer with 400 grit and paint over. One quart would be plenty I would guess. If using clear get one quart color one quart clear. Do they sell smaller amounts then quarts? If so a pint would even be enough but I dont know if they sell pints.

I would use flexing agent. or whatever body shop guys use to paint bumpers.
also, are you sanding them down smooth?

Seemed like it was 137 there? I was trying to stay under 70 if possible?
I have access to a compressor if need be?

I would say 8 oz. sprayable per skirt would be enough to get full coverage. Since it's raw plastic you would want use the same method as painting a raw plastic bumper cover, which is a process. I would use an adhesion promoter, primer sealer, and a flex additive (if you want).
