b20 swap
anyone know a good place to pick up a b20z/b? i think i wanna go that way instead of b16a. i will have to put the swap together myself right, unless someone sells full swaps. how much am i looking at spending to do this? i dont live in a place where its easy to get all these parts. thanks. also, recommendations on where to get one, hondamotorsonline, nippon, any experience with them or others?

itll be going into the easiest of all cars, a 5th gen. 92 vx actually. i need to piece together the swap and i would like a gsr tranny but those are $$$ so maybe ls then. im gonna boost too so ls isnt too bad then. do you think steve at hondamotorsonline can piece me together a full swap, or send me the tranny,etc. i need places to get all the parts: shift linkage,axles,ecu,etc. what is an afc? thanks.

afc is sort for the Apexi s-afe or the v-afc.

I would pay the extra couple hundred for the GSR tranny. Or you could go with a b16 tranny if you were gonna stay all motor. I bought 96 GSR tranny off partstrader for $567 shipped to my door.
what rpms do you pull with your gsr at say 70,80,90 mph? happy with it? grinds, how many miles were on it when you got it? and would i use a del sol shift linkage if i used the gsr tranny in my car. im gonna turbo eventually too.

does it matter which b20 i get. from some people im reading that a b20b and b20z both with i/h/e make about the same power. are the c/r actually the same. i doesnt seem like they could have a .8 difference and make the same power. and i was wondering if i can use a obd1 ls ecu for any of the b20 motors and just use my harness and extend the wires and add knock if necessary.

I think the USDM B20B will have a number after the B, ex B20B3
JDM will just be B20B.
so i should either go for the jdm b20b or the usdm b20z. thanks.
so then a us b20z should say b20z(some number after it?). oh, and i really dont know the answer yet, will a skunk2 mani for obd1 ls and tb from obd1 ls work fine on the b20z? and revving to just 6.2k will the skunk2 be worth it, and consider im going turbo later too.
but im still wondering what i will have to do with an obd1 ls ecu, my stock harness and the b20 w/ls im and tb. what will i have to get or do???
