Default B18C1: OEM main and rod bearing questions

I'm currently rebuilding my B18C1.

I asked a honda parts dealer in Singapore(asia) and they said that replacement bearings comes only in one size and has to be CNC machined to spec according to my rod and main's color codes. WTF?? I thought they are supposed to come with color codes or have i been mis-reading all this time. Can anyone clarify this?

Can anyone suggest an online shopping store where i can get the color coded bearings. Taking me days to actually source out where to buy.

thanks

aftermarket bearings like acl or king come in one size. usually equivalent to honda's green, or middle, bearing size. sometimes you get lucky and everything spec's out with these bearings.

oem honda bearings come in various colors (sizes) so you can mix and match to get precise clearances.

Thats what i thought.

So any suggestion on where to buy the bearings online? I guess the only way is to buy it from the States coz parts here are not always available.

Usually the aftermarket bearings will spec out fine. If not, they do sell .01 oversized and .01 undersized bearings if you had a journal ground or going turbo and want more clearance. Or just buy OEM bearings. Or you can reuse your old ones.
