Default Type R head?! should I or Not?

I have a 95 GS-r and was thinking about just buying a type r head and swaping it. Would this make my gs-r pretty much like the type r performance wise because they have to same block? When I mean the head I mean i would swap out the head plus IM and I already have dc headers. After the swap I would probably just get a itr ecu...I think its an 0bd2 and I could just get a conversion harness

So should I or not? and what gains should i get?

Thanks for any input!

If i were you, i would just get the type r cams, with a chipped p28 with a decent map on it,also make sure you keep the redline close to a stock gsr since you dont have the type r vavltrain

I would keep the redline at like 8100 cause thats when It would stop making power with the head anyways...no reason to pass that. I thought the valvetrain would come with the head but im not sure...And eventually I would replace the springs, retainers, valves and more...

just getting the cams, a chipped ecu,an aftermarket IM ... would be the easiest and cheapest thing to do, cams 300$ blox IM 150$ ecu 125$= ..... $575 , when a complete type r head could cost you 700$ +, this is what i just did and im much happier than going with the type r head

BLOX is a brand .. get the IM for a GSR head, cams I would go with 01 ITR or CTR, ecu wise... I have a skunk2 program and I recently dynoed and got the air fuel, it ran rich in the low rpms, and lean in some areas..... do a search on all of these things and you will find some good respones

even if you used an ITR head it still wouldnt be making as good of numbers as an ITR because of the lower compression.

just get aftermarket parts. better yet quit spending soo much money on N/A parts that are getting you like 30whp and go boost that biatch

Chrome chip on p28 + tuning is more simple and affordable.

I have a gsr and I put intake blox mani and tb. Dc header. WS2 exhaust and skunk2 stg1 cams and made 183 whp..I'm going either CTR or ITR pistons for higher compression. With wut I have now and no back seats I took a 350z by half a car like three times we tried and the 350 had just intake.

NA isnt that bad, if you have and eg or ek gutted THEN you can keep up with some of the fast cars pretty well. NA IMO its not worth the amount of money your going to spend to make it "semi" fast. you can get just as much reliability on a turbo car than u can on an NA car. not to thread jack just throwing in my .02 on the subject
