Here's the situation,

i initially had uneven brake pad wear. I found that out when I heard the metal rubbing the rotor. The outer brake pad was hardly used (still was perfectly good to use), whereas the inner brake pad had a big amount of padding left on one side and the other side was gone to the metal.

well, i saw that one of the slide pin/bolts was seized. I couldnt take it out so I just replaced the whole mounting bracket and put new brake pads.

Still i hear rubbing. It sounds like my brake pads are just rubbing/riding the rotors.

I know i dont have to replace the caliper (or do I?) because i could easily turn in the piston into the caliper.

Now for my question in solving this problem,
would overtorquing the bolts that go into the slide pin/bolt cause the brake pads to ride/rub the rotor?

Help me out fellas and ladies
