Do i need to reset ECU after i replaced a chipped one?

Default Do i need to reset ECU after i replaced a chipped one?

my old ecu was throwing the knock sensor code.and i replaced it with a chipped p28 ecu..do i need to reset the ecu?

When you swapped ECUs, you basically reseted it.
