Default 91 integra ecu code 8. help. tope dead center sensor? check engine light only on cold start

yep.

well i checked the FAQ.

ecu is throwing a code 8....since it blinks 8 times shortly.

checked FAQ, it says its a top dead center sensor.

i only get a check engine light when it is cold....

anyone? can it be the oil? TIMING?

my odometer reads 245k miles!

autozone recommended 20w30 grade oil...but they ended up giving me 20w 50 oil...

i notice my car would idle lower....and struggle a tiiiny but in first gear. thick oil...

after that, the check engine light would go on...

changed oil to the grade recommended by acura owners manual.. and i still get check engine.

anyone?

i would not get a check engine light on when i start it up warm.

could it be my timing?

my dizzy died on me last month, replaced it, got it timed, tuned-up...good for 3 days, then this happened.

timing?

did some more research, talked to a few more people...

1 suggestion, loosen the dizzy a little bit, and turn it slightly one way...

if that doesnt work, try the other way.

good idea?

anyone???????????????????????

TDC sensor is in the Dizzy, so it might be time to replace it. I had the same light on my 91 GS but replace the Dizzy and ran fine with no codes.....

You need to try a Dizzy from another car and check for the CEL. If it does not throw one take the Dizzy back for warranty
