Hello Honda-Tech.com!
This is my first post, so please... Cut Post #1 some slack
I recently got a lot of work done on my car from a company, that will remain nameless (tigerjapanese.com), and now my dream car is my worst nightmare!
After waiting 2 weeks past the quoted due time for my car to be finished (96' civic to have B18C w/ LSD), any MANY trips over 100km's both ways (tough without a car), I finally have my civic... Leaking oil, 3 broken engine mounts, exhuast mounted agaisn't the shifter, half broken shifter linkages, broken VSS (variable Speed Sensor), wearing/breaking CV shaft, $6200's, and in the end one half assed very pricey install that I could have done myself in my back yard without using tools! ( I should have done my own install, would have saved time, and money. Thought these people were professionals, wanted my swap professionally installed, and done fast. Not done crappy, and not to take 3 weeks for a weekend outside with the boys type of job.)
^-- Please Don't Buy From TigerJapanese.com, but if you do, please don't get anywork by them... that's my warning.
That being said. Now that I'm stuck with my Oil leaking B18C Type-R Civic, I want to do some modding.
I was reading in grass roots magazine about this CRX with a B20 Block and ITR Heads... I think that's the type of thing I want to aim for. I googled "b18C head B20 block" and found nothing of use. (many other searches too). I found the LS swap, but didn't know if that pertained to me or not. I guess I'm asking for info on the B18C and B20 Frankenstien... I do want to learn more about the swap, not just how to do it (though, yes I want to learn how to do it), but why we should do it?
I was talking with support from Skunk2 and they sent me here!
first I gotta figure out where this oil leak is coming from, I keep moving spots so I can see the new drips, it looks to be very close to the centre of the engine, even closer to the Tranny Side
...
if anyone has links already available I'm more than happy to read, I'm sorry for being a stupid on the subject, starting to understand engines more every day.

Well, if they bent you over that bad, why not humor yourself to see if they actually gave you the type R you bought or a GSR engine. Look at the head between the valve cover and the exhaust manifold. You'll see either PR3 or P72. P72 is GSR.

Ryan I can't thank you enough for that in formation, you to XkjedlorX. I wouldn't be suprised if it was a GSR not a Type R. I'd be REALLY up set, and probably sue. Then I wouldn't be as broke, and get this engine built, and a down payment on a morgage!
Thanks for your help, any other suggestions?
I did Search for B20, but not the lsvtec. Thanks guys!

Advantage of going CRVTEC (that's B20 with VTEC head) is the additional torque. The blocks are a little weaker than its little brother the LS (B18A and B18B) but the torque gain is nice. GSR's do make decent torque, too, though.
Do a search on B20VTEC or CRVTEC on here and you should find plenty of what you want to know.

I was in there warehouse, and they have A LOT of engines laying around. Honestly I have had nothing but problems with/from them. Zabi was the sales manager I dealt with. I paid upfront ( me = stupid ), and ended up paying an additional $500! very uncool. Moreover, they weren't going to fix any of my problems! I threatend to sue, (luckily taking many law courses in College) told them all the laws they were breaking, then the were happy to return my phone calls. now my warranty is expired, my **** is falling apart... very not kewl.
Thanks lsvgrey !
