Default Carbon Fiber Hood

I'm looking into a OEM CF hood lately and I was wondering what brand I should go with and where to buy.
I have a 01 Honda Prelude

Seibon. Haven't seen as many problems with them as I have with VIS.

Yea I hear that the clear coat lasts a lot longer on the Seibons, this is the one I'm eventually buying. You can get amazing deals on eBay as long as you know what your doing.

If you want I can order you products from this site. They are more exspensive and you do have to pay for shipping. But its not ebay.

Seriously, eBay is not a brand. You will the exact same VIS hood from eBay that you will get from VIS or any other car parts website....probably even get a better price.

find a friend of a friend who happens to be a seibon/VIS dealer. or you can get a used one thats faded but CF weave perfect so u can refinish for less than new and get a better product. VIS is darker colored CF IIRC, seibon is green-ish i believe. The clearcoat thing I think is conditional, I mean if you wax/buff it, it'll last longer than you would expect

I'd look on places like Craigslist, H-T classifieds, eBay, etc....

I'd say just go with ebay. All CF hoods will fade so that shouldn't be a deciding factor. So your left with quality of the weave, and fitment. All I know is I got mine for 275 shipped and it fit near perfect with minor adjustments, and the weave looks great. Had it for a couple years. Now I laugh at people that spend twice that Seibon and VIS.

Here are some older shots for ***** and giggles....

As you can see for ebay fitment was awsome. Also you can't really see the weave to well in those pictures but believe me it looks good. I'll try to dig up the person I got it from.
