The Uber ECU.....
Ok so after 2 days of Online searching and calling around to the few shops in my state that do tuneing i have made the Uber ECU for chipping and Data Logging.
First off roms so far have been a Bitch to find. still looking for a P28 base map Rom.
Also the softwear is some times hard to get i have found CROME and ECUControl 5
Hardware is a bit tricky but not that bad. There are lots of ways to do Data Logging. I'm going with the TTL to USB Via the Nokia Data Cable For Now.
Hardware List
Nokia DKU-5 Cable From flEa-Bay
Chip Kit and "tuned" Chip from flEa-Bay
http://www.E-Bay.com/
5 SST 27SF512 EEPROM Blanks from Xenocron
ZIF socket for ezer chip removel from Xenocron
Burn 1 chip Programmer from Xenocron

2 SPST switchs from Rat Shaq
1 male and 2 female D-Sub 9 Pin Connectors with Connector Hoods from Rat Shaq
1 Old USB cable Cut to 2 feet (I had it just laying around)
Software
CROME for Chip burning

Ok my work i did.
first i put in the chip kit and the flEa-Bay chip to test that i did it right (and yes it worked)
Next i added some Mods to the ECU.
when you put in a "Chipping Kit" you get a jumper wire for the J1 spot on the ECU Board. this jumper is so the chips in the kit gets used. i tested this by puting in the jumper and starting the car. with the jumper i got 8200 red line. with out the jumper the car would red line at 7000. So I decided to use a Switch instaed.

Next i put in the Data Logging this is EZ. All you do is put wires in the CN2 spot on the ECU Board.(you can see this in the Pic Above) now you can hook the Nokia Data Cable right to the board but i didn't want to have to get a new cable every time i wanted to hook up Datta Logging so i used part of a USB cable and the D-Sub 9 Connector. i also made a Tap Connector so i can have it pluged in to ANY data logger.

Now that i have it set up for data Logging what Kind of Software can i use. Well from what i can find only One will work at this point UBERDATA. well what if my tuner uses CROME?? it's EZ he pops the top off the ECU and CUTS J12 in half. Alot of Data Loggers need the Jumper Cut and some Need it there. so i used another switch. this way i can use All Data Logging out there. Plus it looks better then the half assed cut job i have seen done by some tuners out there.

now that i have All this done it's time to start Haveing Fun with Learning to Tune Honda ECU's.

I will be getting some More Hardware as i get into the tuneing better but till then i will have fun with what i got.
