Default What camcorder/mount setup are you using in your car?

I'm going to a HPDE soon and would like to record as it will be the only one I can attend this year. I would like to use a ChaseCam but I drive an EP3 (no headrest rails). Looking for another way to mount a camera. I would really rather not buy a seltbelt harness bar and it cant be externally mounted.

Thanks

given the design of your hatch, with nothing else to mount to, that would be your best bet. just make a bar go across with some aluminum extrusion. or even a "c pillar" bar, might be too far back tho. just dont use it to mount belts to...

Did you have another idea? I'd imagine the camcorder would vibrate a lot mounted this way.

I don't trust suction cups. I like the B pillar Al extrusion idea best.

Suction cup camera mount is awesome......there is nothing to trust, they are strong enough to pull your window out and super stable. Also they don't release untill you release it....BUT they are more pricey then home depot aluminum tubing.

I looked on ebay and couldn't see anything and it's been a while since I looked these up....but the mounts for cars come with a cup like this....it's a serious cup

http://www.markertek.com/Produ...0&off=

The one I had....there is a long shaft that extends out from the middle of the cup, then the tripod head slides over on to that. then there is another stabalizer tube that slides over the end of the first tube that you that you can extend out to butt up against the floor or seat to help stabalize it.

Kinda hard to explain

maybe...go with the aluminum

Heh, just I was thinking. Thanks for all the advice though. I think I would trust those suction cups but I don't want to shell out $100 for it. I'll just make the Aluminum real sturdy. Function over form.
