Belt screeching
Hey have a question... I was just out tonight on my first rainy night with my CRX. I was driving it and I downshifted it and a belt started screeching like nobodies business. I parked it at my friends house and then left later that night, when I had started it screeched and also when I downshifted. My guess is that the alternator belt is bad but I just replaced it. So my REAL question is, do CRX's go through alternator belts quickly or is it a different belt?
you can go to the store and buy this stuff that you can spray on the belts that stop it from squeeling........the easy way out
.....I think your belt is fine though

well... I thoguht mine was the alternater belt too. But it wasnt, it was my timing belt, has it been replaced, is the motor new, or what? If its new, or you replaced the timing belt, make sure the tensioner isnt too tight, or that will cause it to squeel. More likely than not though its just squeeling cause its wet.. Belts do that too..
Be VERY VERY wary of the screeching... when my D16A6's timing belt snapped, the squealing happened for about five minutes of driving... then the belt split in half and snapped. Pull the timing cover off, check the belt, and also check the tensioner.
