sorry if there was another topic about this but. i just instaleld a jdm cluster from a type s. theres a red light on the right side of a circle and a couple lines around it. What does this light mean? It shows whenever the battery is on, and if the car is started. any ideas?

 

its brake related. could be e brake or sumthing wrong with the brakes idk mayb sum1 else can shine sum more light on this, but deff brake related

 

yes the circle within the parenthisis(sp?) is for the e-brake when it's pulled up.

 

It is definitely brake related. Specifically ABS.

You said you got that cluster from a Type-S?

Unless you have a true Type-S you don't need to worry as long as you never had brake problems before you put in that cluster.

Reason why your light is on is because Type-S had something called "Active ABS"
It's like our ABS but obviously worked better towards racing.

Your light is going off because there is no "Active ABS" present in your vehicle. (this is of course assuming you don't have a true Type-S)

Hope that helps. Keep checking back for someone to confirm what i said.

PS. If I didn't have that light on the old cluster before, I'd just unplug it.

 

^Im not so sure about that. I have had a SiR cluster and now currently a Type S cluster and never once did either stay on. The circle is the emergency brake.
