my next door neighbor asked me to look at their car -

it's an accord circa 1995 -

the battery is charged - the headlights go on - but that's it - no ignition - no starter motor - no dashboard lights

what's wrong?

 

have u checked the fuses?

 

Ignition switch will cause no dashboard lights and no turnover

 

How sure are you about the year? There was an ignition switch recall that I think included '98s (the start of the redesign known as the sixth generation).

That, or make sure that the terminals are clean on the battery. Speaking of which, how old is the battery and you say it's charged - how do you know? When you test it with a multi-meter, what is the voltage?

as i said in my post - the headlights work and burn brightly so it can't be the battery.

 

I dont know if the dash lights wont come on but have you checked the main rely. also take off the steering colum cover and on the left side there is a plug with five wires and two screws on each side unscrew it and stick your key in the PLUG and turn it to see if it is the ignition switch that is bad or not
