Default Cost to Install Springs?

I was wondering how much did you guys have to pay if you got your springs installed by someone else? This shop is charging me $150 and I was like what? He said because our suspension has some bearing in the front that you need to be careful with? The other shop that does all my work said it would cost $80.. So is that a good price? I also wanted to know if there is something I should look out or inform them while installing the springs so my suspension wont mess up. Thanks for all your help.

uh.. this is, I'm assuming you're referring to a dc5, is total bullshit.. WTF is he talking about a bearing you need to watch for. From that comment i'd smack the ever loving **** out of that foo and tell him go read a book dumbass.

**** 50-80 bucks is reasonable to install springs but free is better (only if you do it yourself, it's not hard.. lol) does it include an allignment or you going to get that done after you get springs installed? Well either way after you lower your car you need a allignment regardless.

Well what is the shops hourly rate. If I had a lift and all air tools I would say 2 hours total.

80 bucks seems like a great deal IF they really know what they are doing

even though i did my own, i wouldn't mind paying the next guy 80 to do the work

mine is the nearest car

i recommend getting a adjustable camber-kit as well

but the book is not the one changing your struts or springs. the book may ESTIMATE , key word there, 2 hrs. if you've never done it before then you'll take longer then 2 hrs. The book is only an estimate not an approximate.

could be done for free, find a buddy that can help watch and help out
brews and spring compressor will be needed unless you want the strut top mount nut to fly off when you unscrew it. Just from experience i had a four door accord dropped on skunk2s, shocks and struts were blown, easy to install but having a lift and shop is so much better, make sure you have all the tools. For myself i used a spring compressor, 14 socket with allen wrench to keep the strut from spinning while the nut was unscrewed. Over all not a hard job but its not going to be an couple hours if your going to bust it at your house, work front to back, better than all at once at one time
good luck and bless
pics keep us posted

Do you have any ******* idea how a shop works you complete dumb ***. The book states the time it shall take. You pay that no matter if it takes them longer or less. Normally less since they know how to do it. My friend works at a body shop and thats how it works at places like that too. If it says it will take so long to take a car apart and he can do it in half the time the shop still gets the full amount.

Are you a ******* moron or just a complete idiot who has an iq lower then bean dip? Do YOU understand how shops work, how shops charge and how shops make money? They go by parts and labor and everything comes out to ESTIMATES. Don't you think if every shop in the whole world was charging the same price there would be NO competition, shops wouldn't be making any money and would be one flat rate price. Our economy would be shot if that was the case. If they are charging 4 hours of labor on a job that takes 8 hrs to do then that is their loss and they aren't making money for ****. If they spend 1 hour to change ******* struts they will charge 1 hour not 2 because of some "book" said it's going to take 2. If the "book" says it takes 2 hrs then that is an estimate. There is usually a "base" price that does not change and that's about it, for certain things. If it takes them 2 hours to do it, then they will charge 2 hours for that work (which this is called labor). if they are charging 4 hrs for something that actually took them 2 hrs to do, then that is illegal. You must not know **** about consumer laws.

"my friend works at a body shop" "my friend works at a honda dealer" "my friend has a skyline" "my friend... my friend... my friend" Dude SHUT THE Fu|< up before you give some kid the wrong idea of how shops actually work.

yeah your icon suites you alright.. you are fu|<in special...... ed that is. Fu|<in window licker.

Do it yourself, do it right. Shops don't care about your car like you do.
