CA Bureau of Automotive Repair (BAR, State ref'd, certified, etc.)
So I'm looking at BAR'ing my crx. I have a jdm b16a obd0 and I need to convert to obd1 before I try to pass it (b16's didn't come that year in the US, therefore, obd0 will not pass). Anyways, I know I need the obd0-obd1 conversion harness, VTEC distributor, and 4 wire o2 sensor...my question is, since the manifold has to be US, and not JDM, which manifold do I use? Will any VTec obd1 manifold be ok? Or will it have to be a DOHC manifold? Will they all bolt up perfectly? Any modifications that I will have to do?
Also about the 4 wire o2 sensor...I will have to drill into the stock header/manifold to add this right? Since the 4 wire has to read all 4 cylinders, and the stock o2 sensor(s) do not...if so, would just a regular metal bit get through it? ANd then I have to use a tap/dye set right?

Which engine? My b16 I have right now or the 99-00 civic engine? I don't want to go to obd2...I have an obd-0 car with an obd-0 engine...not even a del sol b16 would work?

oh yeah lol i forgot about that base it off of that

So that's all you need to get certified, its correct ecu, exhaust manifold, and o2 sensors? Do you need any type of paper work for the engine and stuff. If i can fix my clutch situation and decide not to get rid of my hatch then I would like to bar it as well. Sorry to thread jack, i was also interested.

from my experience a jumper will work eventhough it specifically states in the guidelines that now modifications to the wiring should be done. this was a couple of years ago though so I'm not sure if they are even more strict now.

You are wrong, corrected.
Also, here is a pic for reference, its my old B16 that i ref'd:
Intake manifold : 94-95 Del Sol P30 dohc, also note purge solenoid mounting.
Header: DC sports, application is for a 94-95 Del Sol dohc
Intake pipe/filter: Not legal for inspection, i chose to run a jdm ef8/9 intake arm and box and it passed.
Throttle body: 94-95 GSR, looks exactly the same as the del sol dohc one but has slightly bigger opening (ref's dont know the difference).
Edit: also there are other wiring modifications that are needed under the dash besides the use of a jumper harness. You need the "check engine light" connector (2 pin) as well as the "Data Link" connector (3 pin) wired in. If u have no idea what these things are i suggest u buy a del sol service manual and start going over the diagrams. You can source these connectors from pretty much any obd-1 Honda/Acura in the junkyard.
