home built hummer
If you want a HMMWV go to a logistics base, like the one in Barstow, CA, and buy one from DRMO. They usually go there when the engine goes or the frame rusts out. Buying an M-1038 for $4000 plus a new GM 6.5l for another $6000 plus $1000 for new tires and $3000 to make it street legal is a lot cheaper than buying a civilian one or building one from scratch.
