living in hawaii, im not sure if I should go with the cold air intake because of the fear of hydrolocking it (its a island of course theres water!) but then again im also afraid that I might heatsoak in the intense weather..

what do u guys think my best bet is?

Short ram. No hydrolock, it's cheap and gives better throttle response.

but your best bet would be a inbox intake
such as mugen, comptech, arc or the like
if your concerned with hydrolock and heatsoak
