first off i'm a long time reader, first time posting,
you guys really know your stuff, i have learned alot about my honda from you guys so thanks in advance.

problem: 2004 civic dx 2dr 5sp, all stock, daily driver.
temperature gauge needle dances all over the place, sometimes it spins all the way around counterclockwise, sometimes pegged at H.
replaced: fan thermo switch, temp gauge sensor, new thermostat. disconnected battery for 15 mins,

needle went back to original postion, took for 10 ride, shut car off for 5 mins restarted car needle danced but stayed pegged below C. ???????

any help would be great...did a search but could not find anything. thanks,

 

looks like you just need a new thermostat

 

replaced with a new one, thanks though. i was thinking more along the lines of electrical.

 

If it is spinning wildly, I'd suggest checking your main grounds.

 

thanks, i'll check. would the ground just affect that gauge or all the gauges?? all other gauges work fine.
