I just bought a 2001 Civic EX with power windows (Hence the EX). but yesterday it was REALLY hot and i tried to put the window down but it wouldnt go wown. i could hear the motor going but the window would just stay up. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance!

 

i don't know anything that would cause this, but your door is only held on by 4 screws. two in the handle and two in the arm rest area. after that it pops off easy. after that you can gently remove the plastic weather seal don't rip it off lol, so you can see why it's not going up and down from there you can get a better idea how to fix it.

shouldn't take long to check it. took me like 30 minutes to replace the outside driver side dr handle of a 95 civic.

Relatively easy to remove, just make sure you don't break or lose any clip.

Else bring it to your honda service department. If you still have guarantee, it's even better

so when you have the door panel off and you're looking at the motor it runs?

When it runs is the window connected to the piece that lowers it?

Gotta look at the whole picture. I know if it's jammed and you're trying to roll down the window you're going to hear the electronics but nothing moves.
