Default difference between b16's

What is the main differences in b16a and b16b bottom ends? Besides compression, weight in the crank and rods. Are the journals the same size? Seals and those sort of things?

I don't know anything about journals or seals but I do know that the B16B has a much taller deck height than a B16A. That's why you can't run Type-R rods in a B16A.

You CAN run type R pistons, just not the rods...

I'm not going to stick my foot in my mouth and try to answer this one, as i've never had both apart, only 1.

Regardless, does change the fact that the deck heights are different. Which is why you can't run the rods, so so sorry.

This chart will tell you all the differences between the motors. Remember when reading it that a B16B is just a destroked B18c5.

I'm just stating facts, if I had never shown up here the Op would be misguided by your false information.

The very least you could do is edit your post to contain acurate information guy.(I'll stay away from the name calling)

basically, a b16b shares it's block with b18c's. b16 deck heights are a few mm shorter.
