yep the shift linkage pin
also known as the bitch pin.
only advice i can give you is find a punch
if you use somthing that is tapered (small at the end, bigger twords the handle) your gonna wedge it in there more.
good luck
took about 20 minuets of hammering with an allen wrench i found to get mine out.

edit: also give it a good dousing of wd40 or triflow if you can find it triflow rules.

Justin, your not a big *****?

I had a little bit of a problem getting mine out. You have to use somthing to punch it out that is the same diamater as the pin. Go to Cent Wise and buy a punch, they only cost like $7.00.

Put a little liquid wrench in there first, then use one of the long A/C compressor bolts to get it started - it's a perfect fit. Then finish it off with a 5/16" or 8mm non-tapered punch. It will take some effort whacking away to get it out.

dont use some kinda tool that increases in size towards the handle... u need something like a 6mm socket or somthing that fits perfectly around the pin and tap it... dont stick a thin peace of rod that increases in size and expect to tap it out.. its just gonna make the pin tighter.......

I use an Air Chisel (sp?) to get the pin out. It takes less than 30 second

After two sessions of beating the **** out of that damn pin I got mine out yesterday, this one was much harder than the last one I did. I used the bolt method, and it was stuck so good the bolt just mushroomed and the center went itno the dam pin.

Just get a puch, some liquid wrench, spray it, beat it, and repeat often.

just make sure you are using a .25 inch pinch, and basically bang the **** out of it. Ive taken the tranny out of the car with the linkage connected,by just undoing it from the shifter. this makes it much easier to remove the pin.

peace

8MM non-tapered pin punch: The BEST $1.99 I've spent, EVER.
