no, a dead battery would....alternator could be the cause of a dead battery though. so through the 3 degrees of automotive electricity i guess you could say it could cause it.

i think there were two seizures that just took place, one while you were typing that and one while i was reading that.
Does the car start? chances are a bad alternator is not causing a fuel pump failure or a starter failure, if your batter is reading 13 volts while the car is running you are ok, it's a little low for charging voltage but not really condemnable...if it is reading 13 volts with the car off you are overcharging the battery in which case your alternator is no longer functioning properly.
