Default zc cam in a y8

I know everyone's gonna start freakin out and tellin me how slow I am and how nothing will help, but....

A friend of mine recently bought skunk2 cam for his car and gave me *for free* his stock cam outta his zc. IYO, is it worth the effort to put it in? Some people have told my boyfriend that it is the exact same thing, so why waste your time switching it out? Other people have said that it is at least a 5 hp difference and you will feel it pull harder. I know 5 isn't exactly a lot of hp, but if it does make me slightly less slow, keep in mind it was *free*, should I put it in? Or just give it back?

Padawan is talking to me.

It's too bad that moderators can't delete moderators. Or I'd so delete Padawan.

No, you wouldn't, because I'd ban you before you had the chance. You're lucky I'm in a decent (for me) mood, otherwise I'd delete your posts here and dock you points.

Well, zc is non vtec, and your y8 is vtec. Pretty good chance you won't be happy with the fitment.

Or rather, do I want to have my rating points docked?

simma down, simma down!

To the OP, werent ZC motors DOHC? If so, you wouldnt find any good out of just ONE zc cam, being it came from a DOHC motor.

indeed there are....

sohc vtec as well as sohc non-vtec.

if it's a vtec cam, you can indeed use it, however, you will have to take into account the following since it's keyways are identical to that of a d16z6

http://www.d-series.org/forums...41363

honestly, it's simply not worth the hassle at all since there is very little difference of note.
