I just got my hands on a set of cams from my buddys friend.

we worked out a deal and he gave me a set of type r cams that came out of his jdm type r swap he bought a while ago. he upgraded to comp cams so he had these up for grabs.

i researched and found the pics about the cams identification. but the pics i saw were USDM type r cams. and these from what he says are jdm.and none of the pics matched up exact. im startin to worry.

-HOW CAN I TELL?

-Are they JDM?

-Which is exhaust cam and which is intake cam??????????

-They have lettered markings on them? can that help?(listed below)

-these are going into a JDM gsr swap in my eg hatch that is stock except some bolt on's. WILL THESE HELP? SPECS?

-will any measurements help?

-what cam seals do i need to put these in my GSR.?

well as far as wich is wich.... one should ahve an I one should ahve an E cam seals just use gsr, measuring them will help how ever i wont be able to help get the measurments and/or bring them to a honda performance shop

those cams dont look like they are R's look like USDM GSR or B16

 

thats what i thought.

the boy i bought them from got a type r swap last year from someone. and swore these were the cams he took out of the head and the motor was never touched.

i want 100% proof that there not from someone that can help me or knows there ****.

i was thinking about putting them in seeing if theres a difference but that takes time and money for the cam seals. and if there not it would be a waist.

i traded parts for these. and i would like some help asap so i can get my **** back before they use/ put them in/ sell them.!!!

Look like B16A cams, not positive.

But def not ITR/CTR cams. Could be aftermarket.

I'll check my B16 cams later and see if that M or A is on there

 

do they look like 88-91 b16a cams . they have a close up of those and you can see that b16a cams dont have any rings.! like mine.

how could i tell if they were aftermarket. my buddy has a set of skunk 2 stage 2;s he just got from someone and he wants to kno how you tell????????

but he can figure this out

any thing special about that that you can tell them apart

is that a "p" on the left cam and a "t" on the right cam?
