92-95 Front End Conversion To 96-00
Ok here is the deal…..I keep trying to find a 92-95 coupe radiator core support to fix my 95 ex , but I can’t seem to find one, and was told about the front end conversion to a 96-00 body style….it may be easier to find the front end parts for a 96-00 civic. Has anyone done this conversion? Does the 96-00 radiator core support bolt right in without an fabrications, or do you have to do some cutting an such to make it fit.
It looks like a$$, you have to cut and weld the fenders together ect. It would be cheeper to fix your front end. I find it hard to beleave you can't find a core suport for a 92-95 civic civic coupe. Its the same part for the coupe and hatchback

I think that you want to say that you cant find a rad support for the amount of money you are looking for. Rad supports are everywhere. You just need to search the marketplace etc.

is it the same part number for coupe and hatch? i had a friend that replaced his core support with a hatch core support and the hood kept hitting the radiator cap, so i didnt think they were the same.

You don't have to do any extensive fabrication, regardless, it's been done before - but the when you put the core support on (the new EG one) - it should be bolted as well as welded anyways, not just bolted.
I'd keep the '92-'95 front end conversion - keep a car the way it is.

the core support i am getting is brand new and its not off an eg so no worries, but i heard you could just bolt it on without welding it,....thats what i was going to do because i dont have a welder...am i wrong, do you have to weld it back on.
There are like four certifit whses in Tx, alot of body shops use them. An oem copy core support is only around $70. Definately weld it back on for accident safety (crumple zone). Call around many body shops (especially smaller ones) will do the spot welds for cheap with cash in hand.
yea im getting a oem core support from honda for $90

please dont do an EK front end conversion, our EG's are unique, and i would hate to see one ruined by doing that. just get new EG fornt end, rad. support/bumper/fenders or whatever you need. its not that pricey. !! instead of save the whales/ save the EG's !!!

from past experience, i have done it before. Its not hard but listen to fellow honda-tech members, i regret doing my conversion. Sold that sucker and got a clean ek instead.
Depends on how you do it. I put a dc2 front end on my eg, looked sick, but half assed, then again i also started it when i was 17. I just bought me a new eg hatch, and i plan to put another dc2 front end, just gotta buy all the stuff first, where im from all you see is hatchies, im tryin to be different. There one other integra front hatch here, and that ***** looks SICK!
thanks for everyones help....i got a core support for a 95 so i wont be doing it. I thought the conversion would look pretty sweet, but i didnt know so many people are against it. thanks again.
