i have done the procedure to break in the rings and the bastard still smokes. its like a whiteish color. the oil has not gotten milky and it runs smoothly at normal temp so i dont think its the head gasket, ive checked the intake and the throttle body and there is no blow by, and the damn thing has not burned a drop of oil, i probably have around close to 300 miles on the motor. any suggestions?
bad valve seals or guides will allow some oil to drip on to the top of the piston that will result in smoke because oil is being burnt in the combustion chamber. my freind had a sohc vtec motor and he ragged it out before he went turbo and once it was turboed it would always smoke especially at a low rpm or idle.
