Default Boosting stock B18C5 with oil consumption

I'm considering a turbo kit for my stock ITR. Maybe Peakboost, maybe piece it together, still doing my research. My goals are 250-275whp with a quick spooling snail, nothing crazy. Not planning on touching the motor at all, not even the HG.

Currently my motor consumes oil. It's mostly, if not fully, when I'm in VTEC. Normal driving is fine. The car sees the road course and I'll go through a quart during the day. Car pulls good with no other problems. Compression good, blah, blah. Only issue is the oil consumption.

Just wondering how worse it will get after boost. How much time will I have before it blows? How much more stress will the turbo put on the engine? Will it blow on the dyno?

I realize the question has many variables. Just looking for some vague ideas.

Here is the car in question. I know everyone likes pics

My turbo GSR burns oil too....it shouldn't really be a huge problem as long as its maintained though. It is going to put more stress on your engine when you turbo it, but do a compression and leakdown test to determine the health of your engine. Also, there are a lot of good setups out there for your ITR....it would be a waste not to turbo it.

The weakest point is going to be your ringlands.
Don't skimp on an ems or your tuner & your ringlands will be happy.

Good to know. I have budgeted quite a bit of $$$ to go towards dyno tuning, which will be done with Hondata on a Dyno-Dynamics dyno.

That's the hottest **** I've seen in a long time . UberJDM and BOOST; what a serious combo . Is that a BYS or Airwalker front bumper?

My stock ITR motor burns about a quart every 1,000 miles or so. Overall, it's running pretty well (just waiting for dyno time and $$$).

I run a GT3255E turbo, ceramic-coated by the guys at Speed Trapp Consulting. It should put down about 320-325whp @ 9 lbs. of boost, and ~375-380whp @ 15-16 lbs.

im in the same boat. but my concern is the oil dropping the octane level of the 93 pump ill be using and detonating and smashing up the ringlands.

OP - do you get smoke in VTEC during the first few engagements then it tapers off?

Yup, it smokes a little bit. Nothing major.

If your looking in the 250-280 range. My buddy has a type r in a DA with an AFI kit, t3/t4 .60 trim turbo at 6.4 psi and made 284 at the wheels in 106 degree weather. so your goals should be easily safe and realistic

Good to hear that I'm on track. Being a turbo n00b, it's hard to tell how realistic I'm being.

FYI, the turbo I'm currently eyeing is the disco potato. Recommended to me by my tuner/fabricator and some peeps on here. Also a shorty SLS SS mani.
