Default quick question.

Okay this may be a dumb question but any help is appreciated. Okay my car has been leaking oil nad i checked the compression the compression is good across all 4 cyl. 270-280 across the board. Now i know that my headgasket is leaking and the headgasket is not bad. I reused my headstuds and am waiting to get my arp headstuds in and installed.

The question is that when i drive normal the car does not burn any oil maybe just a little but nothing like i noticed. It happens mainly when i drive it hard sometimes or just hit vtec on and off but not like a deranged psycho lol. Could it be because the stock headstuds are stretched or are strecthing when i take close to redline?? Like then the headgasket cant seal properly because of the fact that they are strecthing? and that is whats causing the oil to kinda leak out and also get burned during the process?? thanks a lot guys

Are you talking about burning oil? How many miles on the motor. what kind of motor?

yeah burning oil. its a gs-r motor built with ctr pistons, s2s2 cams, omni power valve train, etc. Only burns a lot when i drive hard. Ive reused these headstuds about three times. i can tell that some oil runs down the block(driver side) my oil pressure readings are accurate when the car has the right amount. I keep a close eye on it. but could it burn oil because of that?? if the seal is not proper then oil gets into the combustion chamber and leaks down the block here and there?

Well if you're burning oil, that's a sign of bad rings or valve seals. You also said you have a leak? How bad of a leak and how much oil are you losing over a period of time?

yeah i thought it was valve seals as well. My piston rings are totally fine because the compression #'s are the same as when i checked them after the motor was broken in (never passed 3k rpm). I also checked them after the motor was first started up. the valve seals were brand new with the rebuild.

the leak is coming from the driver side of the block from where the headgasket is. Im guessing it because of the headstuds not sealing the head to the block properly. If i drive normal with no hard driving i can go 400 miles and i will lose less than half a quart of oil. Only when i drive hard will i really notice the oil going. And also can oil get into the combustion chamber because of strecthed headstuds. I checked for coolant leaking along with if the coolant is mixing and its not mixing with the oil.

I have a similar set up in my gsr and when i am in vtec alot it burns ALOT of oil. It is a brand new motor though too. Honestly, I think it is just being up that high RPM's all the time burns the oil up a **** load quicker. I don't worry about it, I just always the check the oil.

. My piston rings are totally fine because the compression #'s are the same

You can still have good compression all the way across and have bad oil rings. Is the leak coming from between the head and block or just from that area?

yeah its only coming from that area. between the head and the block. The car makes black smoke because its running rich and a hin tof blue because it is burning oil so my question is could that leak cause oil to burn?? EX> stretched headstuds cause head and block not to seal properly so oil leaks out and gets into combustion chamber and burns away?
