Default Buddy Club Spec 3 Cams -- Any problems?

Im looking at putting some Buddy Club Spec 3 cams in my JDM B16. It is stock right now, but I just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems running them.

what would be a good valve spring to use with them? I was thinking supertech valve springs with supertech retainers.

This is my plan: BC3 cams, supertech valve springs, adj. cam gears, along with a tune via Hondata.

Sound good? Im thinking 20whp gain?

I'm sure there is no problem running them with a good tune.

BC3 are like stage 1 cams so it should be good w/ your stock pistons.

good 160-170whp.
here is a thread with a gsr motor with BC3 cams.

Good low and mid range gains, not so much top end as opposed to other brands like skunk. But i love my bc3 for my dd and i got blox type b's (sk2 stage 2 copies) in my weekend car.

I put the BC3+ in my B16a and later in my b18c. Both had portflow springs/retainers. You definitely want to have them tuned. When I went from ITR cams to the BC3+ and was using a VAFC for tuning, I had to pull a ton of fuel out at VTEC xover with the BC3+. A dyno tuning session is mandatory, IMHO.
They did idle fine and drove well untuned on the small lobes though.

i've had my bc3's for a lil over 2 years and no problems. im using skunk2 springs with um. i made really good gains with them. im also using them in a b18c5 not a b16 but u have decent compression so you should be fine with a set of springs and some cam gears. i made over 20whp with a tune. y does everyone say there close to stock? there 295 degree cams with an 11.xx mm lift. last time i checked honda didnt make anything like that. my setup made 216whp u should make really good gains if u have quality boltons.

Nice setup and very good power from what people think is a small cam I use them in my basic B20 customer engines and everyone is very happy with the power and feel on the street. The BC3+ cams are a very good street cam in 1.6 to 2.0lt engines and I cant recommend them enough to my customers and as a min I use ITR valve train and have never had a problem.

i recently added them to my b16 with a short ram/dc-4-1 header and greddy sp2 exhaust. right now theyre at +2-0 and whenever i hit vtec it bogs down. definitly needs to get tuned. i talked to a tech rep of bc and they said to try going +1/-1 for now till i get it tuned with the ignition timing set at 12-14. i have supertech springs and crower chromoly retainers on em. cant wait to find out how much power i gain with what i got.

im using skunk2s original springs because i didnt wanna go over board with the pro series springs. the springs are great and there not expensive but u could probably run the bc3's with the stock itr valvetrain.
