Default Finally Tuned! jdm gsr w/ bc3+ by Hookups on Crome *video*

Big to Chris at Hookups Import Tek for the tune. I kept hearing about how great he was, and knew I was going to come out happy and I did. I didn't really care about the numbers, but the overall feel of the car is great. So smooth, and now I'm not running pig rich anymore. I'd recommend Hookups to all the so cali people Met sheepy and revoltallmotor(i think?) there too. Got to see the nice *** coupe which was the inspiration for me to finally get off my *** and get my car tuned.

Here's the setup....
JDM GSR motor stock block stock compression 10.6
Buddy Club Spec3+, ITR outer/portflow inners
RS Machine 3-angle valvejob
Skunk2 IM, knockoff j's intake
jdm 4-1 header, omni testpipe, skunk2 ctr b-pipe/itr axleback

176hp/127tq on crome

Here's a video, not much excitement tho http://www.youtube.com/?v=q2rej31jEkc

no recent pic of the car, but here it was in all it's glory on some 5zigens, rollin on ls meshes now for a more sleeper status

200whp range? on a stock block and stage 1 cams? i don't think so...

are you guys thinking that the spec3+ cams are "stage 3?" it's a common misconception

nice numbers...I have the exact same setup minus the 3 angle valve job. What were the final cam gear settings?

hahaha yeah, the timing was off on the baseline. Haven't run my car in the 1/4, but really curious as to what i'd run.

The cam gears were untouched because since the timing was originally off, chris wanted to be safe and left em at 0,0.

what were your cam gear settings? How much of a difference would I gain if the cam gears were messed with on the next tuning session whenever that may be ?

What gear did you dyno in? Third or Fourth?

Arent we supposed to dyno in the gear thats closest to a 1:1 ratio? So if i dynoed my gsr, i would dyno in 4th..right?

A better header and intake would make some more power with a better powerband. Glad that your happy with your numbers though. Any future mods down the road? or joo going to leave it like that?

not sure if i'm gonna buy anymore mods. I like it right now as it is, a nice daily driven car with more than enough power. However a better header and an icebox does sound pretty good. I'm really regretting not throwin in some itr pistons when the head was off already tho

P.S-You need to play with them cam gears...theres definatly more powa in your set-up.
