how long?
A stock motor should last you anywhere between 200 and 250k.. It really depends on a lot of factors, so it's hard to give a definite answer.
my EX (d16y8) motor has 168,XXX miles on it and it's running fine, except for a bit of oil burning at higher RPMS.

Any EX motor will not kick *** and take names. It's meant for reliability and high MPG. There's no high HP/TQ on any honda civic ex motor.

got my car with ~150k miles on it, it was my bros before i got my hands on it, he took good care of it. little over 2.5 years later and a year of hard autox, motor still runs like a champ at 182k miles. tho, maintence is starting to become a little more of a pain, all of which are minor things but still can add up. so long as i keep up with it, i figure it'll see past 200k miles, some of which will be autox/road race miles
My B16 has 245 7xx original miles on it, and its running pretty damn good seeing it doesn't smoke, even in high RPMs. Given that this engine was meant to rev a bit more, you could likely expect 300K+ from that EX engine. I think the engine would outlive the body of the car.
