Default Using Innovative mounts (RED) and MINUS the 2 front torque mounts...ideas ?

hi all.
I have a EG here in OZ , 3/4 wiretucked and all that.

My next issue is i want to remove everything i can from the engie bay not used. This includes the front 2 lower torque mounts.

With a innovative or hasport kit - is this feasible ? Anyone run this setup ? I want to keep it clean looking and also have the support for an occasional 1/4 mile run and track events.

Any experience thanks ben

he clearly stated he's cleaning up his engine bay.
it seems to be the new thing.
hiding wires/etc

i hear a lot of people remove the torque mounts when using hasport mounts, so it shouldn't be a problem.

and how bout getting that hideous looking battery out of the engine bay...

its gone - old pic. Still , not entirely clean.
Guys using hasport - ive considered the innovative mounts (red ones) which are 75a i believe.

usdmEHboy - have you taken your car thru hard launches etc ? Or just daily driven ?

i dont get why people take things out thats suposed to be there... you said everyonec in a while youll take it to the strip but do you ever drive you car hard? as in slamming gears and what not? cause the torque mounts are gonna help alot... but its your car

i wouldnt take um out. thats the whole reason y honda put them there. i wouldnt screw with them. theres a difference between having a "show car bay" and an actual "driver bay" all of the full out track cars and road racing cars i have worked on have all had the torque mounts. i think thats a stupid thing to do just to clean up the engine bay. i say dont do it.

fo sho.... theres a reason for the mounts as well as the name torque mouts it provides strength so the torque (or lack there of) of hte motor doesnt change the angle or position of the shif linkage when you shift... it keeps the motor in place

if people would look under their cars and wiggle the mounts, most of the are arleady ripped out

with that said, i'm running dcstk hasport mounts, 70a on my EG with no front torque mounts, and it's fine, b18c itr motor

before i had stock integra mounts with no front torque mounts and it was fine also, b16 at that time

I hate wheel hop and prefer an engine bay that looks like it couldve been factory, which means the tourque mounts stay in... Prothane inserts + ES torque inserts + MB products traction bars = layin stripe in any gear I want

But if youre gonna go that route... time to shave some bolt holes!

Exactly why i push this idea. Hasport and any other aftermarket mounts are designed to be used for OEM front lower torque mounts. Even when new , these mounts are quite weak and only ar there to smooth out inbetween shifts. So , its the limits of the metal outside of the mount itself that is the factor here. How far would it move under launch/normal driving etc ? Might do a test or two with some hallow torque mounts and stiff engine mounts and see if it moves much

BTW guys i take to the 1/4 once/twice a month , 13.9@102 is fine sofar for the EG with B18c7 and totally stock setup. I will be back a few more times so this setup needs to stay.
Might even just take the dam things off for daily driving and reinstall for the runs etc.

Better safe than sorry.
